As we gather around with family, friends and loved ones after the recent passing of the holy month of Ramadan, sharing stories and catching up of life's joys and sadness, for some, we are also reminded that Ramadan is like a rare flower that blossoms just once a year and just as we begin to smell its fragrance to discover its true meaning, it disappears for another year.

For the faithful the world over, it was an opportunity to cleanse oneself by fasting and abstaining from life's simple pleasures with faith and hope that the sins of our pasts are forgiven. For students experiencing Ramadan at our school, a new programme was initiated to reap further rewards from Allah SWT.
‘Tahsin Qiraah’ is a two-hour long programme that aims to improve Quran reading for students, which was led by Cikgu Harisah, Cikgu Nazrul as well as the Religious Affairs Committee.

During the two-week programme, students would first be divided into groups with each group assigned with a member of the Religious Affairs Committee that would first be reviewed before Cikgu Harisah.
To bless the event, doa Al-Fatihah will first be read by Ak Hamiz. For non-muslim students, they will be asked to continue on with their bureau activities. Before ending the programme, Cikgu Harisah will give a general comment on each members' progress. To wrap up the Tahsin Qiraah programme, it will end with a doa read by everyone.
